Murlidhar K. Acharya, MD, MBA

Dr. Acharya is the founder and president of Renal Hypertension Center. It was founded in 1986 in New Port Richey and Hudson FL. It has grown to over fifteen Nephrologists as a single specialty practice and is one of largest Nephrology practices in the state of Florida.

Dr. Acharya graduated from medical school at Kasturba Medical College in India and then did Residency in Internal Medicine at Detroit General Hospital. He completed a Nephrology Fellowship from Wayne State University, Detroit MI. He is also an MBA from the University of South Florida Tampa. He is the Past President of the Pasco County Medical Society and was Chief of Staff of HCA Bayonet Point Hospital. He was a Visiting Lecturer at Harvard Medical School and is currently the CEO of Outcomes Research International involved in Clinical Trials for patients with kidney diseases.

Laurie M. Andal, DO

Primary Practice Location: Lakewood Ranch and Bradenton

Dr. Andal graduated medical school from Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine in Lakewood Ranch Florida. She completed her residency in Internal Medicine at Albert Einstein Medical Center in Philadelphia which was then followed by her Fellowship in Nephrology at Christiana Care Health System in Newark, Delaware. Dr. Andal is American Board certified in Internal Medicine and Nephrology. She is currently an active member in the American Society of Nephrology, Renal Physicians Association as well as the Manatee Medical Society.

Linda Badillo, MD

Primary Practice Location: New Port Richey

Dr. Badillo graduated from the University of Puerto Rico School of Medicine with honorary distinction. She then completed Residency in Internal Medicine from Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia, followed by a Fellowship in Nephrology at the University of Pennsylvania Renal and Electrolyte Division. She is Board Certified in Internal Medicine and is a member of Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. Dr. Badillo was voted Physician of the Year in 2007 by volunteers, employees and staff at Community Hospital of New Port Richey.

She has held multiple hospital appointments over the past sixteen years and currently serves as Chief of the Medical Staff at Community Hospital (future Medical Center of Trinity).

Michael J. Brucculeri, MD, FASN

Primary Practice Location: Clearwater, Dunedin, Palm Harbor

Dr. Brucculeri graduated medical school from Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons, New York and completed Residency training in Internal Medicine at New York Presbyterian Hospital (Cornell University Medical College) and Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center. He then went on to complete a Nephrology Fellowship also at New York Presbyterian Hospital (Cornell University Medical College).

He is an Affiliate Assistant Professor, Department of Family Medicine, University of South Florida College of Medicine. He is Board Certified in Internal Medicine and Nephrology, and is also a Fellow of the American Society of Nephrology.

He is currently the section chief of Nephrology at Morton Plant Hospital.

Veeraish "VC" Chauhan, MD, FACP, FASN

Primary Practice Location: Bradenton

Dr Chauhan is an American Board certified Nephrologist and Internal Medicine physician practicing in Bradenton, Lakewood Ranch, and Sarasota. He trained at the Harvard School of Public Health, Boston, and later at the Drexel University College of Medicine, Hahnemann University Hospital, Philadelphia. Dr. Chauhan is currently affiliated with Lakewood Ranch Medical Center, Manatee Memorial Hospital and Blake Medical Center.

He spends his time between clinical practice, teaching medical students and residents, research, and writing a popular blog titled "Demystifying Kidney Disease for the Average Joe!". He has authored numerous publications and book chapter as a first author. He is the only physician in South West Florida to be elected as a Fellow to the American Society of Nephrology (FASN), as well as to the American College of Physicians (FACP). In his spare time, he loves to run, hike, and play with his kids.

Prakas T. D'Cunha, MD

Prakas D’Cunha graduated from Medical School at Kasturba Medical College in Mangalore, India in 1993. Dr. D’Cunha completed an Internal Medicine Residency at the Kalamazoo Center for Medical Studies at Michigan State University. He acted as an Assistant Clinical Professor of Medicine at Michigan State University, Kalamazoo, MI. Dr. D’Cunha was awarded multiple Outstanding Teaching Awards during his tenure at the Kalamazoo Center for Medical Studies. Dr. D’Cunha completed a Nephrology Fellowship at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit MI where he served as Chief Fellow.

Dr. D’Cunha is affiliated with the American Society of Nephrology, the Renal Physicians Association, the American Medical Association and the American College of Physicians.

Dr. D’Cunha has been the Principal/Sub Investigator in many Clinical Trials involving Dialysis patients and patients with Chronic Kidney Disease.

Ashwani K. Gupta, MD, MPH

Primary Practice Location: St. Petersburg and the Tampa Bay Vascular Center

Dr. Gupta graduated from the All India Institute of Medical Sciences in 2003.  He then obtained a masters degree at Harvard School of Public Health in Boston where he studied research design and analysis. He completed his Residency in Internal Medicine from Michigan State University, followed by a Fellowship in Nephrology at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit. He is Board Certified in Internal Medicine and Nephrology.

Dr. Gupta has been practicing nephrology since 2010. Prior to joining the Renal Hypertension Center in 2016, Dr. Gupta was a faculty member at the University of Florida-Jacksonville for 6 years where he served as a core faculty member for the internal medicine residency and nephrology fellowship programs. His interests include treatment of patients with chronic kidney disease, hypertension, dialysis, kidney stones and glomerulonephritis.  He has special interest in treating certain genetic disorders that can lead to kidney disease such as Fabrys Disease.  Dr. Gupta serves on the medical advisory board for Network 7 which serves dialysis facilities and providers in the state of Florida.

Srinivas K. Hariachar, MD

Egbert Liquete graduated from medical school at San Beda College in Manila, Philippines. He completed his Preliminary Surgery and Internal Medicine residencies at St. Joseph Mercy Oakland in Pontiac, Michigan. He then completed his fellowship in Nephrology at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, Michigan.

Mrinalini "Lynn" Matcha, MD

She completed a Residency in Internal Medicine, Fellowship in Nephrology and Clinical Hypertension from Temple University Hospital, Philadelphia. She is Board Certified in Internal Medicine, Nephrology and Clinical Hypertension and has been in practice since 2004.

She worked for the Ochsner Clinic Foundation - a multispecialty healthcare facility for five years, practicing all aspects of Nephrology and Hypertension before joining Renal Hypertension Center in 2009.

She practices all aspects of Nephrology - focusing on Preventive Medicine, Chronic Kidney Disease, Diabetic Nephropathy, Hypertensive Kidney Disease, Resistant Hypertension, Dialysis and Transplantation.

Sudhin Pudur, MD, MS

Dr. Pudur graduated from Gandhi Medical College in Hyderabad, India. He then completed a Residency in Internal Medicine at the Medical College of Wisconsin in Milwaukee and a Fellowship in Nephrology, Hypertension and Transplant Medicine at the George Washington University Medical Center and the Washington, DC Veterans Affairs Medical Center. He is Board Certified in Internal Medicine and Nephrology. In addition, he holds a Master’s Degree in Epidemiology from the Medical College of Wisconsin School of Public Health.

Dr. Pudur enjoys teaching, having served on the Faculty at The Medical College of Wisconsin as an Assistant Professor of Medicine. Currently he teaches Residents at both Northside Hospital and St. Petersburg General Hospital.

Dr. Pudur currently serves as the medical director of Fresenius dialysis unit in St. Petersburg.

Mahathi Adla Reddy, MD

Having graduated with honors from Kasturba Medical College in India, she went on to pursue her Internal Medicine Residency at Western Pennsylvania Allegheny Health System in Pittsburgh. She completed a Nephrology, Hypertension, and Transplant Medicine fellowship at University of South Florida, Tampa where she also served as the Chief Fellow.

Dr. Reddy is Board certified in Internal Medicine and Nephrology, and has several research publications. She continues to teach medical students, and has been a visiting lecturer at the University of South Florida Department of Nephrology.

Daisy B. Reyes, MD

She then went on to complete a Residency at the Ponce Som, Damas Hospital, in Ponce, Puerto Rico and she acted as a Clinical Instructor at the Ponce School of Medicine, Department of Medicine. Kedar Shetye, MD, FASN

Dr. Shetye graduated Medical School from G.S. Medical College, University of Bombay. He then completed a Residency in Internal Medicine at SUNY Upstate University in Syracuse NY and a Nephrology Fellowship at Johns Hopkins University, Baltimore MD.

He served as Assistant Professor of Medicine at the Medical University of South Carolina and completed a Business Management course at Duke University. He is Board Certified in Internal Medicine and Nephrology.

He currently teaches Internal Medicine Residents at Largo Medical Center. He is a Clinical Assistant Professor, Nova Southeastern University College Of Osteopathic Medicine.
